Common FAQs
Q: what happens if it rains for my outdoor session?
A: The weather sure can be unpredictable at times. I will make a call on the day if we need to reschedule for another date.
Q: what is my child is ill the day of my session?
A: With two children of my own, I completely understand that kids get sick and things happen. I only ask that you provide me 24 hours notice before the session and we can reschedule, it's no problem at all.
Q: how long does it it take for me to receive my photos?
A: The best part! Your proofing gallery will be ready for viewing within 1 week of your session. From there you can choose your selection of images. I'll then hand edit your chosen images and within two weeks they'll be uploaded to your own private online gallery ready for you to download and keep forever.
Q: what locations do you recommend for outdoor sessions?
A: I recommend some really special locations for your outdoor sunset session. There's a really gorgeous grassy field which is perfect for the kids to run around in, a beautiful beach for a little splash or a pretty park with different gardens which adds lots of variety to your gallery. Once you have booked your session we'll lock in the location of your choice.
Q: why is it better to have my session during 'golden hour'?
A: Yep, the time of your photography session matters. The last hour before sunset is the perfect time to capture special moments. Gone are the dark shadows or harsh sunlight making eyes squinty. The lighting during this time has a soft, warm glow and is incredibly flattering.
Q: Do you offer any additional albums, prints or wall art?
A: Absolutely! But I want you feeling 1,000% comfortable and excited about the quality of your photographs before placing orders on those. That way, you only order exactly what you want, when you want, and when you know with confidence that they are going to look amazing on your walls and in your fine art heirloom albums. And all of this is done & ordered right through your online gallery!
Q: Do you offer styling advice?
A: Yes, I do! You can send me photos of what you have in mind and borrow outfits from the Client Wardrobe. Two weeks before your session you'll also receive a Style and Prep Guide that is jam-packed with tips on what to wear and what to expect on the day of your session.
Q: im worried that my child won't behave. what do we do?
No kids are perfect, mine definitely aren't! If we need to take a break and have a snack or drink that's all good. It's important that we give them a bit of time to relax and adjust to their surroundings. Don't worry if they're being a silly or cheeky as long as they're safe, I'll redirect them as needed. We'll play games, and sing and dance to their favourite songs because if we're relaxed and having a great time, your kids will want to be a part of that too. That's the great thing about lifestyle photography - it gives you the freedom to leave perfection behind. You're free to embrace the mess and chaos that kids inevitably bring.
